This Month's Superintendent Spotlight

Dan Ford ~ Town of Alma

Town of Alma Highway Department
The Town maintains 40.16 miles of Town highway all year.  The Town maintains 58.20 miles of highway in the winter months, which contains 20 miles of County highway.

The Town has three main plow routes with three plow truck plus one spare.  Each route takes approximately 3.5 hours to plow and sand per snow fall. 

The Highway crew consists of three full-time employees and two part-time summer employees, plus the Highway Superintendent.

The Town Highway Department has been updating their fleet as needed to keep repair cost to a minimum.  The fleet consists of:

~ 2 pickup trucks updated in 2009
~ 1 grader updated in 2011
~ 1 roller updated in 2008
~ 1 ten-wheeler updated in 2014
~ 3 ten-wheelers
~ 1 boom mower tractor updated in 2009
~ 1 broom/vacuum truck co owner w/Scio Highway
~ 1 new highway barn updated in 2014
~ 1 2,000 gallon tank w/pump system for dust control
~ 1 backhoe
~ 1 tracked excavator
~1 trailer co owner w/Bolivar Highway
~ 1 chipper co owner w/Bolivar Highway
~ 1 loader
~ 1 crew truck
